foglight woes

hey guys,
anyone ever have trouble removing the foglight (not the bumper one)?

i removed them both a few months ago and it came out easy. Now, for some reason, my drivers side one is blown and it won't come out. The metal clip seems jammed in there or stuck. It won't budge and have no idea what to do now.

I may be doing something wrong, but I'm doing what I did before and it just won't work, ugh.

Thanks!

Removing Bulb

Up through 1996 the W202 used an H3 bulb with the "pigtail" wire. You unhook the double wire "holder" and the bulb should come be able to be pulled straight back and out. If you have the wire holder unhooked and the bulb isn't coming out, it is stuck (rusted?) to the bulb holder. I am sure you allready used gentle pulling without any success.

The H3 has a rounded flange and a squared flange 180 degrees from each other. These flanges help to ensure that the bulb is put into the housing in the proper orientation. If by chance the bulb is put in with tthe flanges "reversed" then the bulb is forced in, this could possibly act as a lock, preventing the bulb from being removed. I would grasp the metal end of the H3 bulb gently with a pair of neele nosed pliers or a small pair or pliars and gently pull the bulb back. Maby rocking a little bit, if needed.

yea, I have tried gently, fearing that the bulb may break inside...god knows then that will be a mess.

I will try a pair of needle nose pliers tomorrow to try and get it out. But the metal clip holders seem stuck...they aren't moving like the right side so that you can squeeze it to unhook it. That may be a/the problem...

It sounds (?) like the metal clips are your problem? They need to be both squeezed and pushed in towards the bulb base at the same time. If they arn't "unclipped" and swung free, the bulb wont come out. The pliers may help you do this in the AM.

Let us know how it works out.
