Electric cooling fan for a C Class
Pondering somthing here, Has anyone heard of someone replaceing thier crank driven cooling fan with a thermostatically controlled electric fan? It's my thinking that tossing the old fan for an electric one will shed weight from the crankshaft or rotating assembly, thus causing increased throttle response and free up horsepower for the rear wheels. It's entirely possible anyone have any insight?

hey, i posted this topic a while back, got a bunch of views but no replies . kinda like an over priced rare item on ebay....
but i've seen some RX7 guys do it and gained alotta throttle responce. i think the newer c-classes have electric fans. i've seen them on ebay. donno if we could just straight bolt those in. donno about the wiring though. anyone got a basic clue on how to run the auto on/off deal?

I don't yet know what fan would be the best for this app.--I'll be taking measurements soon.

Anyway, I think it would be a simple low-cost/ big performance gain: and maybe some skinned knuckles.
