1995 c280 CAN bus?
Im in the process of buying a 1995 c280 with a manual trans. Im looking to swap in a ls engine and a automatic and use the car for road tripping in more comfort than my other vehicles. Before everyone jumps on me for the ls swap know that the car has 230k on it and the manual trans is toast. Im getting it cheap and i have a couple ls engines laying around and you cant beat them for reliability, mpg, and parts cost.
My question is, is the car controlled by a CAN bus system like im assuming? The sellers friend has a c36 amg and swapped in a turbo ls engine and says its no problem and there isnt a CAN bus system.
Idk if hes right tho and im not looking forward to dealing with mb wiring to keep the door locks and windows working.
Anyone here have any input other than dont ls swap it because mercedes? Thanks a bunch!

Bump it up.
Can i just run my stand alone computer off a relay powered by the key and all the factory stuff in the car will work normally? Im not concerned with the gauges as i can just gut the gauge cluster and add in a speedo and tach from speedhut or something.
Ideas?
