It costs an arm to replace the control arm...
$tealership says my control arm bushings are worn (60000kms). Looking at close to $1000 fitted to replace the entire control arms. I'm not too well versed with Mercs. Is it not possible to just replace the bushings? With you guys discussing aftermarket PU alternatives, how would you go around using them? With the existing arm or?

hey, yea u can just replace the bushings. sterships are just a rip off place. find a local mechanic. w202's aren't space rockets. 1k is too much just for contorl arms. i saw a control arm on ebay (new) for 100 bucks. easy swap.
u need a commpressor to sompress in the bushings into the control arms. a mechanic can do this for you. i think the bushings alone for each side are like 35 or something at some online websites.
