![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I have started building turbo kits for a few cars. We have a turbo kit for the Mini, we are building a turbo kit for the E46 M3 and the 350Z.
I love my C280 and wanted to build one for it so I can represent for my beloved Mercedes-Benz. I was wondering how many people on this forum would be interested in installing a turbo kit for their C280 once I have finished building my prototype.
I'm not talking about prices yet, just wanted to know how many people on this forum want to smoke those damn E36 M3's.

it's going to be a single garret turbo, since mine is a inline I have to start on the inline motor, but if I get enough people I will do the v6 also. the boost and everyhting still hasn't been decided I will speak with my guy tomorrow and let you guys know. if you want to e-mail me it's carlssonbenz32@yahoo.com

Alright guys sorry for not responded quickly but after alot of thought I think I am going to hold off on turboing my c280. I'm trying to finish up the 350Z and the E46 M3 first. I might get a C43 and build a supercharger kit for it, but I'm still not sure, thanks for the replies and you guys will be the first to know if my mind changes.

You are going to make a turbo kit for the E46 S54 motor? What about engine management? This I would like to see, If all goes well and your kit is reliable and puts out good numbers I just might be interested.

The main issue here is COST. If you can either develop and Supercharger or Turbo kit for my C43 or someones C280 for significantly lower price than what other competitors are offering, and be able to somewhat guarantee reliabilty then I'm In! and i'm sure everyone else will be as well.

There will always be a conflict between cost vs. reliability, in reality I don't think it's possible to increase 100hp turboing the C280 non intercooled reliabily and for a good price. Either extensive fuel system and fuel managment which will cost money, or plain simple small T25 Garrett turbo system that pushes say 30-40hp over stock would be somewhat reliable, but at what price are affordable and what do people consider 'reliable?' (when engine blows up it blows up you don't get to choose). Perhaps this is the reason why there won't be much support for the C280 as compared with the AMG W202's where 'generally' AMG enthusiasts typically are more tolerant in spending money to make their car faster. If we had the choice and the finances, I am sure we all would have got AMG C36/43's instead.

Financially it makes no sense to tubocharge a C280. It would be cheaper to simply sell the C280 and buy a C36.

The M113 V-8 takes supercharging very well. A C43 with a Kleeman kit would be a giant killer. Go hunting Porsches!
