New owner, have radio related questions

Hello all. I'm a proud new owner of a '97 C230. I just flew down to FL from PA to pick it up and drove it home over the weekend. The car didn't miss a beat and averaged about 35mpg so I'm quite happy.

One of the few issues with the car is the radio. The previous owner apparently blew out the speakers in the rear doors. Does anyone know the size of those speakers? Any recommendations on aftermarket speakers that work well? I assume getting OEM speakers from the dealer would be very expensive...?

The second issue is a bit of a mystery. The antenna goes up and down, but the radio reception is horrible. I can never pull in more than one or two stations and they only work for about 10 miles before the signal goes away. I live about 20 miles from Philadelphia and all my other cars can pull in about 12-15 FM stations while the C230 struggles to get one radio station. Anyone else have this type of thing happen to them? I plan to take a look at where the antenna comes into the trunk. I'm hoping it's just a loose wire. Any sugggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

As for the stereo: If it has the factory Bose system you're out of luck if you want it fixed cheep. You will need to replace them with the dealer part. If not Bose you can get Blaupunkt or whatever else you like.

The radio reception is probably just a loose wire.

Thanks for the info. I still haven't figured out the reception problem. I pulled out the trunk lining and everything appears to be hooked up correctly. I've done some searching here and at other message boards and I've come across a few others who have complained about this. No has mentioned what the solution is though. I've got a couple ideas on how to narrow it down, if that doesn't work I may resort to the dealer.
