Shifter wont "catch" into park. Driving me crazy!

Shifter wont "catch" into park. Driving me crazy!
So I'm starting to lose my patience with this. When I go to park, I have to JAM the shifter to get it to catch into park, and this is after 10+ attempts at a time. It just doesn't want to "catch" into park, and puts me back into reverse. Does anyone have any ideas? Is it the gear shift module? Is the shift pattern out of alignment?

Yes, multiple times. Nothing seems to be working. I have to actually keep the bolts loose that connect the shifter to the car so it can "move forward" and catch.
