Car wont start!

Any input on this topic would be great...

I drive a 1997 C230 W202, not the Kompressor model

So I recently went through the struggle of taking apart my interior to redo my headliner, and everything was going smoothly until I tried to start my car to keep the battery from dying (was listening to the radio while doing this). When I went to start it I turned the key and got nothing. I tried several times and still got nothing. I found out if i turn it fast enough it will turn over for about 2 seconds than stop again, and never start. I did a little research and there was someone else who seemed to have similar issues only they never mentioned it turning over for about 2 seconds. For them, it was their ECU. Im really hoping thats not my issue. Ive tried disconnecting the battery, jumping the battery, and still nothing. All the lights and everything work just fine too.

So im baffled, any help at all would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance!

(Also my key is a spare key, its supposed to be the flip out key but it broke. but this key has been working fine)

To me sounds like you have a failing\faulty ignition module, however get the car diagnosed as the part is expensive .

PS: Have you tried the spare key.

I have used the spare, its the only key I have. Its always worked just fine. Where would this ignition module be located and how exspensive are we talking?
