replaced shifter wont start now??? c280

replaced shifter wont start now??? c280
hey guys....picked up a 2000 c280.....
but right away im having transmission issues....now it wont upshift past second gear...
so....
1) Conductor plate replaced (no change)
2) Trans module replaced with a used one....exact number ( no change)
3) bought a used shifter yesterday....went to try it....wont start...wont even turn over....i put the old shifte back in ...wont start with that one either...whats going on????
but right away im having transmission issues....now it wont upshift past second gear...
