Unhappy 1998 C230 need help

I have a 1998 C230, 130,000 miles looks new. The vacuum portion of the EGR valve has gone bad. Mercedes has obsoleted this part? I cannot find an after market replacement. Does anyone have a suggestion as to where I can obtain this part? No junkyard within 100 mile radius has this part. I do not like driving with the check engine light on all the time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If your car shows only codes related to the EGR valve, then I'd drive it to get a replacement part and not worry much about it. Keep an eye on things while you do this...

Thanks, but the problem is no one manufactures this part and I cannot find a used one.

Mercedes should have any part for this car. Post a picture of what you need.

One would think so, but Mercedes has discontinued this part (Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve). There are also no aftermarket EGR valves available for a 1998 C230.

Thank you, but unfortunately not. I cannot believe this part, integral to the operation of this car, has been discontinued by Mercedes.

you have not looked extensively enough. parts for all late 90's W202's are still available. You know how many thousands of 202 with the M111 motors they sold in the states! Worst case scenario, start looking at Mercedes dismantlers till you find a 4 cylinder 202 car.

Is the part on this page?
https://www.genuinemercedesparts.com...gr-system-scat

If that's the part, Pelican Parts say they have it here:

It's not cheap and it's a special order: $268.75!

every Mercedes that gets parked in my bay
Last Friday I installed a new egr valve, hoses and clamps, as well as a new oil separator on my service advisors 230 kompressor. Picked them up from the parts window, brand new.. not sure what Warehouse they shipped from but definitely still available.

I'm curious to know if you ever fixed this. The links I posted should be your part.
