Don't ever have to change them if you clean them. 30,000 miles is a good figure for a normal copper plug, 50,000 for a platinum. Do not use the Bosch Platinums though, they suck. 99 cent Bosch Super is the way to go, trust me..my buddy owns a Bosch Service Center.

That's a first. I've got to get me some of these super 99 cent cleanable everlasting spark plugs. If you going to take the time to remove and clean them, look under your driver's seat for some quarters and go buy some new ones.

You obviously have way more experience than I do. I run Beru Ultra-X in my personal car and clean them when I am bored. 40,000 miles, cleaned them and 20,000 miles later they are probally just fine. I would only recommend them to people whose cars are paid-off though. :p I am responsable for the maintenance of six or seven other Euro cars as well. I can tell you two things, Platinum+4 plugs suck (esp in a boosted engine) and Bosch Supers are way better than oem plugs, even if they do say "Mercedes" on them.
