a/c self recharge
I read where someone recharged their a/c themself. I see where the referigerant is loaded, so it does look simple. What I want to know is if the R134a that I will buy is premixed with the accompanying lubricant that must be used. I assume so. I know that I would see for myself when I go to the supply house, but I like to be prepared. I imagine that packaging of the referigerants for non-professional use will have instructions including whether or not the compressor should be turning when adding the stuff. Second thing is whether anyone has any experience with the a/c system sealing products. I am a bit leary of those.
Thanks,
Joel

action on self recharge of a/c
I decided to go for it. Went to Auto Zone and bought a can of R134a containing referigerant, oil and stop leak. So, for 14.99 plus tax, the a/c is cool and so am I.
Some apprehension over finding the correct valve, but that was easy because the diagram on the can is clear. The only real difficulty I had was that you have to hold the button down on the can while the contents transfer to the compressor. It took about 2/3 of the 14 ounce can. It doesn't blow at 28 degrees, but it works.
