Loosing functionality of electric windows after new used key coding
Hello,
I have a facelifted 1998 C200 Kompressor with smartkey. For some reason my car wouldn't recognize anymore my original key. Red light on the smarkey would turn on after pressing Lock and Unlock buttons but it could Lock/Unlock the doors nor could I turn the ignition. I had the key checked in a local independent service and the key was sending signals, just the car was "ignoring" them. They told me they had to reprogram the key to the car. I chose to have a new used smartkey reprogrammed as the original one was in a sorry state. With the new key I can lock, unlock and turn on the car but after a couple of days I will start loosing functionality of the electrical windows. They "go" one by one and don't respond neither to the switches nor to lowering and raising them from outside the car via the smart key.
Only disconnecting the battery turns their functionality back on until the same thing repeats itself again.
Any idea what might be?

Did you reset each window with their power buttons on the center console?
Instructions are in your owners operation manual.
Do this by turning on the ignition to position 2. Then press power window button down. Then press up and hold the button until the window is closed and keep holding it for 2 seconds longer. This resets the window. Repeat this procedure for each window.
