Transmission swap possible? MAVA help!
Long story short i got a 1997 c280 from an auction, the car would barley go forward at 3k rpm, and there was no reverse. I replaced the conductor plate along with testing the solenoids and replacing 1 of them still no luck. My question is, can I replace a 722.604 transmission from a 97 c280 straight 6 with a 97 c230 4 cylinder that has a 722.600 transmission into the 97 c280? I have the 722.600 transmission and tcu ready if i need it but I am wonder if I am better off rebuilding the original 722.604 or completely switching them out? I have heard one user, MAVA , that has a lot of experience with these transmissions, any input would be awesome.

Out Of Control!!
Your VIN transmission is (722.604) part number 210 270 74 00. The only other one that will work is a 722.612. Use the .600 one for a boat anchor and rebuild your 722.604.

I think, "C230" gearbox should work perfectly in "C280",
97 "C230" & 97 "C280" uses the same output range, which is (A330Nm),,
but you have to stick with "C230" TCU, cause "C230" got shorter diff. Ratio than "C280"..
