Angry automatic volume adjustment!!

i am sorry but i have to rant. every time i drive my C280 that auto volume adjustment drives me insane. there really should be a switch to turn it off. it is so annoying with the music fluctuating according the the engine. i want it loud all the time!!! if there is an easy fix let me know.

i am sorry but I have to rant too. every time i read the forum someone asks questions that have been gone over many many times! there really should be a way to make people use search before posting.

And now the DIY answer to your question.

Cut wire #1 in connector A to your stereo.

Please don't come back and ask how to get the stereo out of the car before you do a search.

Here are some helpful links, with other suggestions:

I wouldn't cut any wires. you can have a dealer shut off the feature with the MB laptop or you can remove the microphone (it's up by the reading lamps). also, if you keep the volume extremely loud, it doesn't get any louder

W202 C-class doesn't use the microphone.

He asked for the DIY way (which does not involve a dealer laptop or a non-used microphone). But, if you would rather spend money and go to the dealer and probably leave the car there all day for them to do it incorrectly, then that's your choice too.

Or you can cut the wire. Or even just remove it from the connector.

(The search joke made me laugh.)
