Replacement Key for 1996 C230
Hello,
I'm posting for a relative who isn't computer savvy.
He has a 1996 C230 and it only came with one key. He wants to buy a duplicate but the dealership wants $200+ for a key.
My question is has anyone tried one of those websites for replacement keys, and what are your experiences. From what I understand it is a 2 step process, we have to buy a key fob that is a "blank" and then find a local locksmith to cut the key and program it.

To clarify.... for that price, you can only obtain the fob shell and blank key (if it's a blade key), much cheaper if you order from aliexpress (will take longer to ship...), no cb, if that is what you are requiring, is included.
If you go this route, any reputable locksmith will cut the blank for you to match your original.
