Alternator problems on C180 W202
Hi,
I have the C180 W202- 1996 model. The alternator brushes were worn, but I replaced it where-after the alternator work again. However after a few miles, the light came back on.
Had to drive straight home. Now the battery is also dead. What caused it and how to repair?

Also, do an obd scan to confirm the codes you get before and after your repair.

Now, the battery is dead.
It's apparent that your replacement of the brushes did not work so your alternator isnt charging the battery at all. You discharged the battery driving it a few miles and then back home without the alternator recharging the battery.
Driving it a few miles like this will drain your battery.
You need a new alternator, or have it rebuilt correctly:
