kickdown

are too many kickdown's not good for the car?

since i've started my new job, a portion of the highway that i travel on is uphill and usually in the morning, it's slow travel, meaning kickdown needed to pass and switch lanes

thanks

BTW, 99% just kicking down one gear.

well, i dunno exactly, but considering how a lot of parts on our cars are really fragile, kickdown (or flooring it) is prolly not the best thing for the tranny or engine. that goes for any car but it definitely holds more weight for w202s.

not really "flooring" it...I push the pedal slowly till it drops a gear so that I get a little better pick up when switching lanes and such going up hill.

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
don't worry about it, its not a problem. as long as its properly warmed up and youre not doing anything "stupid" it'll be fine.

i always properly warm up my car start --> wait till fast idle drops --> drive easy, 3k RPM and below till upshift delay is gone and temp is registered on the gauge
