failure to start the 95' w202 c280

hi all,

I own a 1995 w202 c280, my case is that when on several occasions when i tried to start my car, only the cranking sound from my engine came and the both red and green lights on the rear mirror starts to blink together. i have to keep trying and let it rest for about 5 mins and it can start again. But this event does not happen all the time but unexpectedly, say out of a total 50 times i ignite my car, the fault occur in 3 or 4 times only.

could the problem has something to do with the security or electrical system? i have brought my car to the an official dealer and had the car electrical systems inspected and diagnosed thoroughly and they reported that there was nothing with the system in the car.

Thus, this "breakdown" still occurs occasionally and today i met the same technician. He advised that i should get a new car key as a replacement in order to avoid the same problem from happening again. but he cannot guarantee that this way can solve the problem.

do you think it is a good idea to get a new key or do you suggest that there could be other parts or areas of the car that are faulty? i do hope that some w202 c280 owners did had experience this problem cause it is really frustrating to have your car bail out on you unexpectedly. Don't you guys agree?

i would really appreciate anyone's comments and advice.

thank you
