Sunroof Problems

ive done a quick search but didnt find much

i just got the car back from the shop for replacing the belt tensioner and now another problem occured: i cant close my sunroof with the "close button" or my remote. i have to use the tilt up or slide open buttons to close the sunroof. when i try pressing the close button, nothing happens and there is no sound whatsoever. does the motor have problems, or is there some electrical problem, or is it something else?

if your pressing the close position and there's no "grinding" or "humming" noise from the motor, best bet would be the switch itself not contacting with that specific position.

that whole overhead console comes off by pressing a few tabs hidden underneath the light covers. Just be gentle and patient and the entire thing should come down

Search under my name and there will be instructions on how to reset/re-program the switch. I was having the same problem about two months ago. Ido not remember how the sequance went but, it was something like this:

close the roof
while holding the switch in the tilt (up) posistion turn the key to posistion 2 and hold there until you hear the switch/relay reset. Then colse the roof again and repeat this with the switch in the open posistion (slide back posistion). Close the roof and start the car. The roof should work.

I found this on a search...

You need to resynchronize the sunroof. To do this, open the sunroof as far back as it goes, and continue to hold the switch in the rearward position for 3-4 seconds.

Push the tilt button up, and hold it there for a few seconds. What you're trying to do is "tell" the sunroof where the limit of it's travel is.
