Front suspesion knock solved
Hi
Just thought I would share this as there seems to be numerous queries about suspension knocks. I have had ongoing noise from my from left suspension for some time. After searching through forums etc, I replaced sway bar bushings, shock absorber, lower ball joint to no avail (although they were probably due for refreshing). Having pinpointed the noise to the upper part of the suspension, I decided then to replace the upper control arm. On removal I found that the inner mounting point had failed as per image attached. I am in the process of having a plate welded into fix.
I would be inreested to know if this is a commonn failure?
