P0715 - Replaced Conductor Plate. No luck.
Hi All,
My 1999 C280 with 125k miles recently stopped shifting and triggers code P0715 - Turbine Speed Sensor. I did plenty of research on the forums, and decided that the Conductor plate and 13 pin connector were the best course of action. I did the pan drop and the fluid was dirty, but there was no metal in it.
Pulled the conductor plate and saw that the sensors were cracked so I thought that was clearly the problem. After installing the new one and new connector the problem persisted with no change. I investigated the TCM to look for the fluid wicking into it. The fluid had in fact made it to the TCM connector, but not onto the circuit board itself. So I cleaned up the connection, and there was still no change.
I'm at a bit of a loss of what to investigate next. From all my searching, the conductor plate and connector was the clear culprit for this issue. Unfortuantely my Mercedes Star C3 will not communicate with the vehicle so I've ordered the Autel AP200 to try to get more information from the transmission.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Another thing that could cause tranny limp mode is a bad ABS wheel speed sensor, sometimes called a Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). It should also give a P0500 code if your code reader can read it. Easy to check with an Ohmmeter.
