Overflowing cooling fluid

Hi! I have a MB C180/1994/benzine and I encounter the following situation: after stopping the engine the cooling fluid is overflowing from the overflowing tank.
I changed the thermostat and the cylinder head gasket and the problem persist.
Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.
Thank you!
Luca

A few things can cause this. Overheating of the engine causing the fluid to boil and raising the pressure, or not enough coolant mixture in the water causing it to boil. Also, the cap could not be holding the pressure anymore.
If it is overheating, check inside the radiator for gunk. if the radiator is clogged up if can restrict the flow of the water to the engine causing an overheat. If it is not that, I would check the water pump.
If you just have water inside the cooling system, add some coolant in it and it should help. A good mixture is 50% water 50% coolant.
If neither of those are your case, I would replace the cap as the spring is most likely worn/lost it's push back force.
