Unhappy 1999 MB c280 oil leak from oil filter housing.

I went to the local auto parts store. Told them my issue and the rubber seals they sold me are not for the oil filter housing I have.
I have the v6. The oil filter housing I have doesn’t have the 46mm nut inside of it. It looks like all one part. I would like to know how to
remove it and what seal needs to be replaced? Thank you

Br@dy1,

Your photos dont show any leaks. Where is it leaking?

FYI- The black cap is the oil filter cover. You need to use an oil cap wrench
(similar to this - not sure what size you need on yours 74mm 76mm?) (similar to this - not sure what size you need on yours 74mm 76mm?)
to remove it.
The seal (o-rings are inside) once the cap is unscrewed and oil filter is removed.
Here is some more reading for you.

I clean the square timing chain seal. I replaced the rubber gasket inside of it and cleaned around it. I changed the oil today as well. I’ll see if it keeps leaking and get back with you.
i see a lot about taking the oil filter housing out and replacing the seals in it. My oil filter housing doesn’t have a 46mm bolt inside to loosen it. How would I take it out and what seals do I need to replace in it? Thank you.

Hmmm my radiator reservoir was looking 2L a day. Mechanic said it was a coolant pipe around the oil filiter housing area. Pipe is only $150 AUD but labour would be $1350 AUD or $1000 US, is this fair?
