1997 c280 gray hose?

Hello. I recently obtained a 97 c280. I noticed a gray hose that is disconnected under the hood on the right side of the engine (drivers side). It goes across the back of the engine (over to the passengers side). I tried to upload a picture to this thread but maybe the file size is too large? The hose goes through where a bundle of wires go toward the ecu but this hose does not go into the ecu. It connects to some black thing near the ecu then goes down from there and appears to go through the firewall. Just not sure what this hose is for? The car currently will not crank. Probably not related but I'm just not sure what this hose is for?? Any help would be appreciated.

Drivers side. Where it is disconnected. From somewhere?

Thanks for posting that. Very in depth video. I'm still not sure exactly where I see the tube I am talking about. Is he pointing to it at 21:53?

I may have vacuum leaks I'm not sure. Most of the time the car will just turn over and not even try to start. Occasionally it will start right when you turn the key and run like a brand new car, until it gets warm. Then it starts to misfire and will eventually stall out. Getting codes for misfire on cylinder 1 and 3 and also p0300 (multiple cylinder misfire). No other codes.

you may be correct (@ 21.53). my W202-C280 2000) is different, my wire goes right to the back area, I would start looking around the area, based on the length of the hose, and since it has a bend it would be towards the middle of the lower part of the engine area, try and find/search for vacuum hose diagram...good luck
