W202 Audio help.

Hi, I have a 1998 W202 C280 with Bose option added, when I have a song with a lot of bass playing there is a raddling noise coming from the rear right sub, i was wondering how i could go about fixing this.

it might be a blown speaker. my rear deck passenger side bose speaker blew about 10 months ago and the "rattling" got increasingly worse as time passed. if this is the case, a replacement from the dealer will run you ~$120. your best bet is to find a used speaker from someone on the forum.

I know its not blown since its something shaking not the tone of the speaker, the speaker pumps out bass just like the other one perfectly, its just something raddles or something is lose.

Exclamation w202 audio rattle noises

Make sure that:

1. That plastic housing for third stop light is not vibrating.
2. It is composed of two parts, take cover out.. if you hear the rattle.. it is broken or dried up from the sunlight..
3. Slide back whole stop light... clean it
4. Rubber seal might be gone...

Good luck... let us know what happened...
