shuddering C280
while on a long car trip a week ago, the car began to shudder while in gear, and almost bogged out upon pulling over. it seemed as if the engine was shaking in the mountings. after turning the car off and on again, it worked perfectly, and 2 weeks later, no reoccurances. any suggestions to what could be the problem?

This happened to me last week. Other guys here gave me very helpful suggestions as to what was wrong.
In my case, I had to replace my Mass Airflow Sensor, and my Over Voltage Protection Relay.
If your car is running okay for now, have your mechanic check these, and the wiring harness as well.
Good luck.

on. I plan to get the software for my Palm Pilot. How many miles on the car?
Those Mass Airflow Sensors are something else. Mine gave signs like that for days before it finally quit.

hey trbo2nr,
if you're able to get a sofware for your palm pilot, will you let me know how i can get one, too? i think i am going to need that on my benz.
by the way, after replacing the MAS and OVP, is it normal for the car to have less pick up?
maybe i am just too sensitive after not driving it for a week.

re: shuddering
ive had the car for about a year and a half, the car has about 110,500 miles and this is the second occurance of the shuddering. the first time happened upon starting the car, and was far less pronounced. the second time was upon flooring the car on the highway after being driven for about 3 hours.
another question: is it possible for a person to 'floor it too hard' and actually force the clutch plate and flywheel to slip, even if it's an auto?
