overheating help !!!!

I need help with my 95 c220..the temp gauge gets close to 120 line. I have changed the thermosat but still the same.the coolant is changed when I changed the thermo. the car overheats when I sit in traffic. the big fan (which is connected to the surpentene belt) always turns at the same speed. isn t that supposed to turn faster when I hit the gas ? also the twin fans (front of the radiator) , what are they for? could it be a relay problem? they never turn on. I thought they were for the a/c. but they dont turn on when the ac is on. I am lost. is anybody having the same problem?

Maybe the thermostat needs to be replaced.

are there better fans than the two aux fans in the front, i saw a pic of some german w202 which looked so nice, it was the silver one with the slits in the hood for something or other, and they were chrome, i'm not sure they were just chromed or changed, and what else can be done to make the car a bit cooler, mine sits at 89 and I know its normal, but i'd like to see it dead center becuse it gets *** hot here
