Belts

I can't answer about you specifc car, but I have always changed my own belts. Most of the cars I owned had the serp. belts. It is very easy to do. You just have to study how to get it off and on. That usually the biggest problem. In my experience, you get a big a** breaker bar to pull back the tension pulley and the belt will come free. Then you figure out how to get it the hell out of there. On my Ford, you have to bring it over the cooling fan. The most it has ever taken me was about 30 minutes. To me, it is not worth the money. I look at it like this, if someone can do it, so can I. Besides, I like working on my cars. It gives me a certain sense of gratification.

Good Luck!

P.S. I am even thinking of doing the Kleemann pulley myself, so far the information I've gathered looks pretty good. However, I want to make sure I get the same warranty.

John Cappuccilli

That's not how you do thing, by forcing them out. Forcing it out is easy but forcing it back in is like hell !! You will damage the belt tensioner.

Read your manual and it will tell you which is belt tensioner. All you do is find the right socket and turn it counter clock wise. That is.

No force intended

By mentioning a breaker bar, I meant to say one that fits the tensioner. The tension pulley is under some pressure, and it is hard to hold if you do not have a long bar. I know on my T-Bird, the tension pulley is dangerously close to the fan. It scares me to think if the pulley pulled back with my hand on a short bar--Ouch!
