no catalytic converter
New York State exempts cars over 25 years old from emissions testing. This then allows the elimination of the catalytic converter. While I would not remove it just for that reason, but being 26 years old and on the original exhaust system (88,000 miles) sooner or later I will need to replace the exhaust system. Question is this: what should I put in place of the no longer required catalytic converter? Straight pipe? a resonator? seems like whatever I do, it will need to be custom made to the dimensions of the absent catalytic converter. Any thoughts?? thanks
