Climate control not working

Hi All. I have just realized that my climate control knob doesn't seem to be functioning. I normally have the AC blowing from the face vents, and when testing it today found that none of the other positions on the knob make any change to this; no air from the demister vents or onto my feet.

Also closing the centre vent by the thumbwheel doesn't seem to change the amount of air coming out.

I have had a bit of a look, but I can't find any reference to this problem. Has anyone else struck this?

It's a 1996 W202 C36

Sorry, I should have posted that I solved the problem, in case someone else has the same issue.

I looked on YouTube for instructions on removing the control panel and noted that all said to make a note of the knob locations. They have a non-symmetrical extension that engages with the controls behind the fascia and as well they have a swivel to help with alignment. When I removed it, sure enough, one of those extensions was hanging down and wasn't engaged at all. I put it back together and made sure to get them both into the sockets and it all worked as it should.

There was writing on the back of the part indicating that it had come from a wrecker, so the previous owner must have replaced it (without the help of YouTube).

Thanks for your input though.

Hi, great to hear you found a fix. I was wondering if you could put the video link? This might become handy as I might have to do the same work in the future.
Thank you.

Thank you, this was a great video! How long roughly did it take you if I may ask?
