Squeaking noise at Cold start up
My 1997 C180 classic sedan with 400k ( 5w 30 fully syn oil ) started to make “squeaking noise” just after cold start up, ( belt and pulleys are in good condition ) after 10 minutes when temp gets to 80c it’s quiet as normal, starts and runs well. Spraying water or caster oil on the belt makes no difference, it doesn’t sound like loose timing chain tensioner so not sure, my guess is the battery maybe not holding charge over night so just after start up alternator ( recently new non standard ) is running fully loaded trying to recharge the battery or your thoughts pls

Progress so far
Noticed the squeaking when a non cold start, so tried to remove the SERP belt, crusty belt tensioner and mini shock,not much movement, hit it with WD40 and worked it to free it, started this morning no squeak, temp fix so will check if needs a replacement belt tensioner soon.

took the serpentine belt off and started the car squeak gone runs quiet so it’s isolated to the externals i.e. water pump, power steering pump or alternator.
Does my model have a clutched pulley and How to remove the plastic cover on the alternator pulley to get it off if needed pls advise see this video attached
