Does anyone have a performance resonator for a C280 or any W202 C Class. What kind is it? Is it stainless steel? Does it make the exhaust louder? I was thinking of going to Midas to have them replace the resonator with custom alumized piping for $40. What I really want to know is, will it make my exhaust louder, I already have a Eisenmann rear muffler. thanks

 

yes im sure it will the point of a resonator is to dampen sound, i havent done it to my benz but ive done it to my civic, it doesnt make that much a difference but its noticebly louder, if u want it really loud take out the catback and replace that with straight pipe, i found taking out the resonator made the car sound a bit "ricy" but leaving the resonator in and dumping the cat makes a deeper sound, well at least on my other civic, but im sure its the same with the benz
