Odor on acceleration..

I own a '96 C220 and lately I've noticed that on an acceleration, mainly uphill, is causing an odd odor in the cabin.

I'd describe the odor as sulphur like, it doesn't smell like burning oil, fuel, etc. I checked the exhaust system for leaks, etc, but didn't find anything. Perhaps this is an EGR problem? Anybody have thoughts or suggestions?
