W202 idle Resonance Valve
My mother's W202 1997 C280 is throwing a P0170, I have replaced the MAF and front O2 sensor (Bosch parts) and the O2 sensor code has cleared.
I used brake cleaner and sprayed around the intake and the idle changed, I dug deeper and pulled off the resonance valve cover and say the actuator arm broken. I then pulled the valve out, the flap is broken.
Mercedes part number is 000 140 04 31 and is discontinued.
I am fairly sure this is the P0170 code culprit, now to find one.
Worst part is a shop took her to the cleaners to the tune of $12k+ a year ago and the car hasn't been right since, multiple CEL and also an oil leak.
