buying tommorow !! help me plz plz .... :D

hey whatas up
i just sold my 95 318ic for 8k
a friend of mine is selling a 95 c280 with 110k miles for around 5k .
now i enjoy working on my cars, i changed the fuel filter , oil and sparks on my 318 myself, specially it was helpful because of the DIY on the web.

now do you think its much more expensive for some one like me to mantain this car ? before i buy it im gonna take it to a mechanic but i just wanna know if its a reliable car like my bimmer or not... is the oil and sparks and other stuff DIY ?

thanks

See if the car ever had the head gasket replaced. Like any car, unexpected
repairs can add up as with the 318. While I love my Benz, I'm not sure what
you're looking for (car wise). The 95 318i, still is a nice car and the car you're
replacing it with another car that is the same year. Maybe it's me, but I'd
try a newer model with lower miles.

Also check with an MB tech and see if it has the updated engine wiring harness. That's an expensive repair too. My mfg. date on my car was late 94 and the tech confirmed that I have the updated wiring harness. Check on it.

you can do the oil and sparks yourself, but i would go get the car checked out and i personally would not buy a used car with that many miles...on the other hand it is your friend and im sure you know how he drives the car (if he accelerates fast, or speeds in it alot) cuz that would make a differance in the quality of the engine if i were you i would hold off on the '95 and hold on to the $8K...look for something...maybe...a bit nicer or with lower miles on it, i know that the MB dealership by me is selling a '96 C280 w/ 68K miles on it for $9,800...you can always talk them down if your paying in cash...Good Luck!

Hmmm...i would rather go with the 96' C280 with lesser mileage rather than your friends car. Beside if you buy from dealership at least they have done certain point check system before they sell it again..or you can keep the beemer and put 19" on it
