1999 C230 Kompressor turn signal relay
1999 C230 Kompressor turn signal relay
Today I used the hazard flashers for the first time on my 1999 C230 Kompressor. The hazards turned on and off, no problem. After about an hour of freeway driving, the hazards randomly turned on and would not turn off.
I ended up pulling the signal fuse so I didn't drive around with my hazards on. Later I got into the fuse box to look for a turn signal relay, which I don't see in the fuse box under the hood on the driver side. I can hear a clicking sound as the hazards turn off and on, coming from behind the instrument cluster. Is the signal relay behind the instrument cluster? Any other ideas why the hazards would turn on and then not turn off?
I also disassembled the center console and unplugged the hazard on/off switch and it didn't turn the hazards off. I disassembled the switch, cleaned it, and lubed with dielectric grease since I had it taken apart. But there is still no turning the hazards off.
Any ideas here are appreciated. I figured its a malfunctioning relay but I can't even locate it to test or replace it.
