Air Mass Meter '99 C280

My check engine light was intermittently lighting up so I took it to the dealer for the diagnosis. They said it was the Air Mass Meter and it would be about $550 to replace.

Can I do this service myself? If anyone has any information on replacing the Air Mass Meter, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Should be no more than 15 min.
See this engine pic. The circled part is the Mass Air Sensor.

You just need to take off the top of the air filter box and disconnect the clamp from the hose.

Go get the part from mercedesshop or overnightautoparts etc., replace it yourself in like 5 minutes. See that previous picture that was posted (excellent
shot). I think you'll end up paying $285 and change.

I'll try it!

Thanks for the very specific info!

I'll do as you say and let you know how it works.

Thanks,

JC
