Are there any Basic Performance Upgrades for a 98 C280?
I've been browsing the board for a while, but no one ever seems to talk about serious performance upgrades for a '98 C280. I've heard filters don't do much, as the OEM ones aren't that restrictive in the first place. Besides exhaust, what are some things I could do on a reasonable budget? Chip? Thanks.

normally aspirated engines are generally harder to tune on the budget than turbo or supercharged engines. chips may get u 10-20hp if u'r lucky...
then things start to get espensive, like port and polish the headers, etc. or getting a supercharger from kleeman. and to add to that, mb aftermarket items are not cheap to start with...

I'd go for $1000 you can go with universal exhaust (with borrowed mounting brackets), K&N filter, and either an UpSolute chip or Kleeman crank pulley.

If you wanna go hardcore, keep in mind that almost all mods on the 3.2L V6 will also work with the 2.8... hopefully by next year I'll be running an engine stroked out to 3.2L, with either a Mosselman twin turbo kit, or a C32-spec supercharger.
