MB Warranty

Anyone know if the finish on your wheels is covered on the 4 year 50 warranty. My 17" Rims finish is peeling off and I was wondering if anyone has had similar problems and if there dealer covered it.

i think you would have to prove its the wheel finish (or lack thereof) and not chips or curb rash. also not caked on brake dust eating away at the finish resulting from not cleaning the wheels.

brake dust does that to wheels?

How old is your car? Is it all four wheels or just one? if new, a good sa is going to take care of it for you. if nearing end of warranty you might have to put up a fight.

good luck

that is a very true statement. a good SA can make the dealer experience go one way or the other.

It depends on the customer too. If you go in there spitting and hollering about it, they may just tell you to was the wheels more often. Be polite first. Make sure it looks like youve been keeping them clean. If you haven't and won't, well its likely your fault for not maintaining them. Brake dust does nasty things to a wheel over time.

Agree 100%. The car still have 1 year 20k miles left on the warrranty, there is 1 wheel where it has been scraped by the curb (Very minor) however that is no where near where the finish is chipping. The finish is chiping on all 4 wheels. I have to go in next week to have the Antenna Amp replaced, I will talk with my SA and will post any results. Thanks for everyones input.
