HELP: Problems fitting AMG front bumper to '04 C230 sedan

Hey guys, my bodyshop is having some troubles fitting the AMG front bumper to my '04 C230 sedan. The problem seems to be from the bumper reinforcement that holds the fogs and attaches to the body. I heard differing opinions about whether or not the sport bumper reinforcement would fit (or could be modified to work) with the AMG bumper. When the shop attempted to do it, they could not make it work, so they ordered an AMG reinforcement (part #203-885-01-65). Supposedly they could not get this to work with it either. When I checked with Frank at SB Auto Group, he said this is the older AMG reinforcement, so I had them order the new one (part #203-885-15-65) but I hear there could be up to 8 different reinforcements for this bumper that may or may not work. I'm hoping this one works, but am not holding my breath. I know there are some members who have added the kits to their pre-05 sedans, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

what about the foam between the bumper and reinforcement brace? Saprissa had some issues with that piece when fitting the AMG bumpers to his coupe.

they had to trim the foam piece. it was too big compared to the new bumper and the foam that belong between the AMG bumper and reinforcement. by reshaping on the edges (basically shaving it down) it allowed the bumper to fit properly without having to order the foam piece. Saprissa was explaining it to me.

tell them to remove the foam and try and fit the bumper. if it fits, then they need to reshape or shave down the foam, or they can order an AMG piece.

They say it's definitely not the foam piece. It's supposedly how the reinforcement attaches to the bumper at the bottom. The top lines up and attaches fine, but the bottom piece is where they are having the issue.

2003 c230 Kompressor
Hey, so this was never updated did the new reinforcement work the one ending in 1565, I'm dealing with the same issue now installing it on a 03 c230 kompressor, and am thinking this will work since it is a "sport" model instead of the regular 05 facelift amg style bumper on the c230s. PLease let me know how this worked out as Im about to purchase the new one.
