if i keep a moderate pace of 75, going from san diego to la, i get 28mpg. that is better than the 16 i used to get in my toyota 4x4.
i usually average 20mpg driving to and from work.

Fuel economy

In our C 230 K, driving at a constant 120 km/h (~75 MPH) plus the short urban sections at either end of a 360 km drive netted us 7.6 L/100 km (31 MPG US). That was on cruise control - the car is a non-Evolution version with the six speed manual. I fully expect that the car would do some ways under 7 L/100 km (over 35 MPG US) if the cruise was set at about 105 km/h (~65 MPH) on a longer haul. Plus this baby's not fully broken in yet (about 1400 km now). It's a very economical car on the highway - less so in city driving.
