'02 Coupe audio redesign questions
Just out of curiosity, after 9/11 with the hightened security, is there any thing special I would need to get into canada?
The next trip is being planned but won't bring me to the NY area (I think)...unless I get plenty of reason to go there...
Carlos - are you up for the next US trip to finish some mods off?
greetingz,
I just got mine yesterday I'll have it installed hopefully sometime this week
1. I was thinking of the euro command unit with Aux cable. If I go this route, would I be able to hook up my ipod to the aux cable and be able to control the pod though the steering controls and see the track info on the dash display like with icelink? if yes, what cabling would I need to connect the pod to the aux cable and would the pod charge?
2. What exactly is a head unit? I thought it was the radio with the controls. The alpine head unit you suggested is not a radio. Is the HU the box that the various audio components like cd changer, radio, etc. plug in to? Would that head unit require a new radio or can it work with the factory cassette radio?
Is there anywhere on the net that I can get a diagram or description of audio components so I will be able to use the correct termonology and know what I'm saying?
I would like to have the ability to connect multiple devices to my car's radio. I have an iPod and have been thinking of XM radio. The aux cable seems to be exactly what I need and what my factory cassette radio does not have. Navi is secondary but something I'm considering. I just need someone to fill in the missing gaps in my understanding.
Steve, is toronto in the picture for May/june? I've heard you might be going there and its only a 6 hour trip.
Please let me know if able to get some of the Affalterbach goodies.
They can be shipped directly to Mark's house, and I'll pick them up.
I can deposit directly to CB&T also.
Looking to finishing off PTS on the Coupé as well. My schedule is not too flexible, so please let me know well ahead of time on my choice of appointment times. Thanks Steve !!!
