cleaning speaker grill

I have dirt trapped in my drivers side speaker grill (the grill is down below by the foot and is bound to get dirt). How do you guys clean this? Is there a way to pop it out and put it in the dish washer? It's metal mesh and the dirt is stuck in between.

options:
- HP air hose
- compressed air bottle
- dis-assemble the door panel and pop off the speaker grill, and clean as you like

ha-ha !!! speaking from experience,
that's for sure....

For that matter, don't use baby-butt wipes either. They'll leave wet white flaky filaments over any grooved or grilled surface.

hm, i tried the hard side of a sponge with soap and water, i don't think it worked too well. Good call on the air can, that might work.

I wouldn't try anything WET, with the grill still on the speaker... don't know, but water and electronic equipment don't like each other too much.

Also, try using q-tips, or dental cleaning tools if there's too much grime.
A non-abrasive cleaning brush might also get those tight spots.

The trouble with compress air and anything which "blows" is that the dirt gets blown into the speaker. I would use a vacuum cleaner to suck the dirt out.

You can use an old toothbrush or go buy a new one with soft bristles, get the brush moist, scrub it, then wipe it off with armor all wipes until it wipes clean.
