Brake wear light

My wifes c230's brake wear light came on tuesday, I have ordered the pads today. I will replace this weekend. How many miles do you think before metal wear takes place after the light comes on? Just wondering, I just wanted to make sure she doesnt F*@k it up before the weekend.

Thanks

Chris

Well it all depends... sounds like you won't have a problem. I went two years with the light on. The car still stopped without any noise or feeling alittle grinding, but by then, the rotors had to be replaced as well. I did not think anything of it because with my previous experience with brake service, I atleast heard a noise or felt something when stopping.

You shouldn't have a problem, just make sure you inspect the rotors.

you have about 10% left when the light comes on...a few days should be no problem.
