C230k mpg?
Randy
renncpe - Would you mind elaborating on the fuel settings? I have no idea what you mean.
There is also a setting you can have changed, setting the octaine port to 93 also adds a little hp not much but can you ever have enough?

...This vehicle will be my daily driver for a 45 mile highway commute to work at 80-85 MPH. Can I expect 25-26 MPG???

Vadim, obviously not in the D.C. metro area!
Would be highly unwise to attempt to go THAT fast (sigh..) on Rt66 near Fairfax, where there are more cops' cruisers than lowered Civics

This does, of course, presume it's not raining. When it rains in California, everyyone forgets how to drive!

Try the 280 between San Francisco and San Jose. I drive the 50 miles daily, and the average cruising speed is 80-85. The 750il's and S55's in the passing lane are easily going 90-95. The CHP basically looks the other way during commute hours. It's been called "The Autobahn."

Everyone seems so relaxed out there compared to uptight and angry East Coast...
My sole road trip got me 29.8 average...and I wasn't "baby-ing" the car. I have to add...this car LOVES to cruise!
On another note, I asked him about changing my oil earlier than what FSS said, and he said that MB definitely did not recommend this. Now I am wondering, is this because they want the car to break down after 100k, when they could get more $$$ fixing it, versus getting $$$ now for changing my oil? Do you guys believe this conspiracy theory?
Talked to a service rep about my apparently low mpg while driving around on city streets (12-15mpg!). He said because of my low mileage (1500), not to worry about it, until it gets over 5k. He said it was still being broken in!

and i think the oil change at FSS recommendation is fine. other to-be-unnamed cars have similar recommendations.
I took a 250 mile trip on Thanksgiving day. The driving was mostly on freeway and rural highway, with about 10 stops each way. The computer read 29.7mpg as I was pulling in my driveway.
