Any problems with your's yet, ct?
problems with my airbox? none yet. only thing i noticed was a whurring noise at about 3,000 rpm in 3rd gear but it seems to have added a slightly louder air intake sound to the engine. of course not as loud as a CAI or short ram intake would be. :v maybe someone will come out with one of those for the c230. my little 323i sounds like a monster with just a short ram intake and chip, it made the engine much louder.

Has anyone made that Y or T pipe to connect the drive side vent into the air box. Also is anyone selling or getiing rid of the fabric air intake hose. I would really like to open the drive side vent for more air intake. I read all the post about using ABS and grinding the grids, which is a great idea but i ike the idea of keeping my benz quit.

I don't have the ***** to be the tester on the intake hosing. Can't afford a new engine/car if I kill this car right now.

What kind of pipe did you use? Does it have room for flex?

rlee02135, aren't u a little worried about water and all that other crap getting into ur airbox?? as it is with the cloth type pipe, it already gets pretty dirty when u open up the lid to clean it out. Just wondering if u maybe drilled a hole or to under the pipe? i say, drill about 2 holes and put a small grill over them to keep other things from getting in.

Considering the angle of the pipe, the possibilities of a heavy amount of water getting into the airbox is slim. As for dirt and other stuff, that's a different story. mig888 has had a custom carbon fiber pipe in his car for some time and hasn't had any problems to my knowledge.

SLK 200 Kompressor
I also change the air filter in mu SLK 200 Kompressor.

Does someone remplace the cloth air pipe by an BMC carbon air filter and use an empty MB stock air box ?
