What's the plinth cover?
Hey...
Got myself a set of recaro seats for my coupe![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I'd rather install them myself, so I've been trying to figure it out.
the first step in the directions to remove the stock seats is to remove the plinth cover...anyone know what that would be? i'd rather know for sure without messing around...a pic would be great too...thanks

the plinth is the square base on which the seats are bolted to. If you have to remove the cover for the plinth, then I would think it's some sort of plastic covering over that base. I looked under my Coupe seats, and didn't notice anything that resembles a cover, so I'm not sure pics will help.
I looked for it in the manual, and don't see any reference to the plinth cover. Perhaps one of the MB techs in here, could explain it better.
Do you have manual seats or electronic (memory) seats ???

yeah, i didn't notice any cover either...i have manual seats.
thanks for the info though, i really appreciate it.
i actually kind of winged it and removed the passenger side seat...everything seems right as far as that goes...the next step is to remove the stock rails from the stock seats, along with the belt clip...we'll see what happens

I have manual seats too. I think the cover might be on those with power/memory seats. Check with CitronC230K_03... he's got power/memory seats in his Coupe, and might have that "plinth" cover.
The only way I knew what "plinth" meant, is because I collect die-cast cars, which come in small rectangular plastic or resin bases (often painted black, with the model of the car engraved on the side). Some collectors take them off the "plinth" and display them in cases, while others leave them screwed in to the "plinth".
