2002 Black/Java C240
Drivers Side Seat

Have been noticing that with the standard seat I have been experiencing lower back pain, even after short drives (this is new ecperience for me).

Is the muticontour seatback any better. Can it be added "after the fact." I have the Java interior.

Any other ideas?

I have fiddled around with your seat? The seat does not have lumbar (sp?) support, but it has lots of support. You can buy a insert for lower back support at a sports/health shop. That might work.

Remember there is an adjustment for the angle of the seat bottom as well as the back, it is the knob on the side of the bottom. That might help.

OKA (otherwise known as) the recline adjustment.

No, the recline adjustment is where the seat and back meet. The one I'm talking about is on the seat bottom's side closer to the knee than the butt.

I can second that complaint - lowback soreness after driving - but more long distances. I do have the multiufunction seats...the adjustments do help a bit...but I think the major factor was setting the seat before setting the multifunction adjustments....I do not think the multifunction settings did a whole lot...just some final touches. Once I found a comfortable setting...took me awhile to find the right one...things have been better. But, occasionally, need to retune the seat to make small adjustments.

Seats

The seats are hard , but they fit like a glove ... sometimes when my back hurts, I take a drive in my 230 and my back stops hurting. I find the seats provide great support and plenty of adjustments.. i have the manual seats
