i just hit a curb and although the wheel looks ok - there is a slight tear/flap in the tire - about 1/8" deep abd 3/4" wide. you think that's bad?

i did the same thing 2 months after i had my car...and so far the tire has held up pretty well... didn't cause much damage except for the tire..and little bit on the rim....you should be ok...

Keep an eye on it. Might be time for you to upgrade your tires as well!

I had the same thing happen to me about 4 days ago. Just slightly hit a curb - have a small flap tear on the tire just above the wheel (I think it is the the area where the tire makers build up to protect the wheel edge)- should be no problem. Scratched the rim up a bit - I took it to a MB approved body shop and they fixed it for $75. I guess cost depends on how extensive the ding is. Just concerned about the tire - if a small tear causes any structural weaknesses.
